In 2021, I was contacted by the teams at Dom Pérignon to produce a series of portraits and two or three landscapes for the renowned champagne house. The initial brief was fairly open-ended. After spending a day in the vineyards with cellar master Vincent Chaperon, I began photographing the plots, the Abbey of Hautvillers, the winegrowers, the harvesters, the grape clusters, and the cellars. What started as a small commission gradually evolved into an intense collaboration that spanned three full years.
The project involved accompanying Vincent Chaperon’s vision with images—both for the vintage in production and for the future of the house. Each year, the creative directors M/M shaped this body of work into a box conceived as a portable exhibition.
